Homemade Hummus and Tzatziki

It’s summer vacation time, let us escape to the Mediterranean! Hummus and Tzatziki are staples in Mediterranean cooking. Top them both on top of my Steak Gyro Pita Wraps!

Tzaziki Sauce:
½ cup thinly sliced english cucumbers
1 cups cold plain Greek yogurt
3 cloves minced garlic
2 tablespoons chopped dill
Juice of ½ squeezed lemon
½ teaspoon salt, or to taste

  1. In a bowl, add paper-thin cucumber slices then drizzle salt. Mix well and add lemon juice, dill, garlic, and yogurt. Mix well and set aside for at least 15 minutes.

Hummus:
1- 15.5 oz can of garbanzo beans
1 teaspoon cumin
¼ cup tahini
4 cloves garlic, sauteed and browned
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon kosher salt
¼ cup - ½ cup water depending on how thin/thick you prefer

  1. In a blender or food processor, blend all ingredients until smooth.
