Bougie Rice Krispies Treats

These Bougie Rice Krispies Treats are complete with gold dust and gold leaves!

4½ cups rice krispies or puffed rice cereal

4 tbsp salted butter

10 oz pack of large puff marshmallows

1 tsp vanilla extract

¼ cup crushed freeze-dried strawberries

¾ cup dark chocolate chips

  1. In a large pot on medium low heat, add butter and let it brown up for about 5-7 minutes. Once you see brown bits at the bottom, add the vanilla extract to stop the browning and then stir in the marshmallows.

  2. Let them melt into a paste like consistency and take off heat. Add the puffed cereal in along with the freeze-dried strawberries. Stir well and pour into an 8x8 baking dish. Press the mixture down.

  3. In another saucepan on low heat, melt the chocolate chips, stirring constantly so it doesn't burn. Take it off heat once you get a glossy mixture and pour it over the rice krispies. Smooth it out and add fun toppings like more freeze-dried strawberries, gold dust, gold flakes, sprinkles, whatever you want! Enjoy!
