This is a nostalgic breakfast sandwich that I grew up eating every Sunday! Sausage Egg Muffin Sandwich… a childhood favorite! It’s been YEARS since I’ve had the real thing but making it at home is so simple and way faster than getting in the car, driving to your local spot, sitting through the drive-thru, ordering, wait… wait some more. Plus this is probably healthier too!
I served it with some crispy hash browns and dunked them both in a nice helping of ketchup, then washed everything down with a refreshing glass of orange juice. Ahhhhh! Who wants this for breakfast tomorrow?!
breakfast sausage patty
english muffin
1 egg
slice of american cheddar cheese
In a hot pan, cook up your breakfast sausage patty. Make sure it is cooked all the way through.
Toast your english muffin, whole, and use a fork to split it open.
Place the sausage patty onto the english muffin, top with sliced cheese and allow it to get nice and melty.
To make the perfect circle egg, use a 3.5” ring mold. Add oil to a pan, swirl your ring mold around to grease the side and allow the pan and the ring mold to heat up. This will stop the egg from seeping out. Crack the egg into the mold, puncture the egg yolk a bit using a fork, cover and let it cook through.
Assemble the sandwich altogether and enjoy!
