I love having yogurt for breakfast or as a snack. I used to buy them in small containers to bring to work but got so tired of the same old flavors offered by every brand. Boring strawberries, blueberries, and peaches were always in rotation. I never understood why they didn’t come up with more fun and exciting flavors. Siggi’s came out with some interesting ones like the banana cardamom, orange ginger, and such, but you could also only have those so many times until you become sick of them.
Enter my DIY yogurt bowls. I decided to experiment with different flavors that you would never find at the store - like matcha, cinnamon berries, cocoa powder with berries, etc. I would buy plain greek yogurt and use whatever spices I had at home, frozen or fresh berries, and turn them into an exciting breakfast! Sure, they’re not as convenient as the grab and go ones, but you could totally make them ahead so that they become grab and go!
So here is my video tutorial some of my favorite flavors to mix:
For all of these, I used plain flavor but you could definitely use vanilla if you prefer
1) Matcha persimmon
1 cup greek yogurt
1 tsp matcha
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp honey
Topping (optional): Persimmon, sesame clusters
2) Cinnamon Spice / Eggnog
1 cup Greek Yogurt
1/2 tsp vanilla
pinch of Ground cloves
1/4 tsp Cinnamon
pinch of nutmeg
1 tsp maple syrup
Frozen berries
Chocolate granola
3) The Fruit Cake Yogurt Bowl Recipe:
1 cup Greek Yogurt
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp cinnamon
Cranberry sauce
Candied ginger
Chopped pecans
4) The SUPERfood Yogurt Bowl Recipe:
1 cup Greek Yogurt
1 tsp Cacao Powder
1/2 tsp vanilla
Pomegranate seeds
Hemp seeds
Chia seeds
Goji berries
Blueberries
