Happy New Year Buzy Beez! I hope you guys are having a wonderful 2017 so far. For 2017, I decided to only make 2 goals or resolutions. The first is of course to eat healthier - and by healthier, I mean less cookies and kettle chips and more nutrients. I don't want to restrict myself to no carbs or sugar because well - let's be honest - I'm pregnant and I do get constant cravings. But instead of reaching for my stash of chocolate chip cookies, I will make my best effort to have a healthier alternative instead! The second goal is to blog more often. :)
So what do I plan to do on to mitigate my junk food binge eating? Make smoothies, of course! I made a video with 7 life changing smoothies on my Youtube channel recently and will be featuring them all for the next 7 days on the blog.
First up is this Aloha Power Punch smoothie. I infused this with smoothie with my favorite tropical flavors like strawberries, pineapples, and coconut. It doesn't exactly take me back to Hawaii as much as I try to imagine it during this stormy weather, but it definitely satisfies my sweet tooth. I also added some quinoa and greek yogurt to amp up the protein to keep me full.
Recipe:
Aloha Power Punch:
½ cup (frozen) strawberries
½ cup frozen pineapples
½ cup bananas
2 tbsps cup rinsed quinoa
1 tbsp shredded coconuts
¾ cup coconut milk
1 scoop greek yogurt
1 tbsp maple
Ice
Add contents in a blender and give it a whirl! Pour into glass and enjoy.
